Hakim Sanai

SANAI, WHO LIVED during the 11th and 12th centuries, is reckoned to be the earliest Afghan teacher to use the love-motif in Sufism. Jalaluddin Rumi acknowledged him as one of his inspirations. Sanai is known for several astonishing works, including The Walled Garden of Truth (Hadiqat ul-Haqiqat) and The Way of the Seeker (Sair al-Ibad ila'l Maad).
